Advocacy group asks for public hearing in Peach Bottom nuclear plant licensing
A Maryland-based environmental advocacy group has filed a request for a public hearing on Exelon’s attempt to extend the Peach Bottom nuclear plant’s operating licenses by 20 years. In its request to the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Beyond Nuclear says Exelon must explain how it’s prepared to handle the “increasing wear and tear” of the nuclear plant throughout its extended lifespan.
