At 49 years today, Nine Mile Point Unit 1 is the oldest nuke in nation
OSWEGO – Forty-nine years ago today, the first nuclear facility in Oswego County started commercial operations and following the closure of Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station in New Jersey earlier this year, Nine Mile Point Unit 1 is now the oldest operating commercial nuclear facility in the nation.
