If TMI closes, owner to delay dismantling to 2074
If Three Mile Island’s Unit 1 nuclear plant closes this September, the plant’s owner would be in no rush to take the unplugged plant apart. Exelon Generation said Friday it would let the plant’s large components – including its reactor and landmark cooling towers – sit idle for 55 years before they get dismantled.
